You are invited! Click the image above to watch an invitation to the 2025 Women's Retreat

The 2025 Women’s retreat will offer a variety of workshops related to the theme: Discover Beauty in Dry Places, God’s Compassionate Invitation. Presenting workshops this year are women who have faced their own desert experiences and worked to respond to God’s compassionate invitation in their own difficulties.

These speakers come from a variety of perspectives: floral designer, musician, educator, artist, therapist, writer/editor, author, missionary and businesswoman. God helped each of them discover beauty in the dry places of their lives...and their stories will encourage you to do the same.

Morning Workshops (choose two):

              * Navigating Emotional Overwhelm with Vanessa Gallego:

Life can feel overwhelming with all the motions, thought, and constant changes we go through, from dealing with tough people and situations to shifting responsibilities as we age. Learning how to pay attention to these emotions and uncovering negative thought patterns can lead us to the life-changing process of replacing them with God's truth.

              * Flourishing with God: Transformational Tools to Experience Peace with Connie McDonald:

I enjoy co-creating with God when I can get in touch with my heart through art. In the last five years, new fun transformational tools have emerged which have been instrumental in helping me become more peaceful. In this workshop all you need is an open heart, mind and a willingness to adopt a playful attitude.

              * Fears & Possibilities with Sue Reed:

In the art-based workshop, we will use a tree motif to explore areas of our lived where there is both reticence and potential. You needn't consider yourself an artist to participate, as the prompts are easily followed by anyone on the creative spectrum!

              * Longing for Belonging: Walking with God Through Loneliness with Karina Schuelke:

In this workshop, we're invited to take an honest look at the topic of loneliness, why it's so common and what we can do to find (and create) real community. There will be opportunities for writing, personal reflection and discussion. BY the end of this workshop, my prayer is that you will have at least one small step you can take towards greater intimacy and connection with others.

Afternoon Workshops (choose one):

              * Bloom Where You Are Planted with DelJean Benton:

DelJean will share her discovery of God's abundant love and overwhelming care on her journey as a floral designer. Like the wildflower in each of us, we will discover ways we can all bloom where we are planted as we look at the beauty of the flower and God's unique plan for each of us.

              * Seeking God's Glory in the Stars with Dorian Buttacavoli:

Does looking at the stars fill you with the awe and wonder of God's glory(as well as make you dizzy!)? God, who created the vastness of the heavens, desires to speak to us especially during those times of drought in our soul. Looking at Psalm 19 together and working with watercolor, we will explore and discuss how the Psalmist is drawn into God's glory by gazing at the heavens and discovering Him in the truth of His Word.

              * Unexpected Friends in the Wilderness with Jan King:

Sometimes when we find ourselves wandering in the wilderness, we can miss the people God has for us to walk with in the journey. In this workshop we will discuss ways to embrace the unexpected in the wilderness, grow our curiosity and deepen connectedness. We will practice asking questions and listening deeply and participate in an activity to spur discussion. Perhaps there are others who need us to surprise them in their wilderness
